JP Brings the Faith

JP delivers his faith in his music. “Till I Die” has an industrial beat that’s a bit dark, but the lyrics and flow differ as they’re light. The song plays like a hip hop sermon and you can hear JP’s beliefs loud and clear throughout the song. While this song is purely a religious one set to an urban beat, those not listening closely would just hear the music and check it out. So it works on both levels. Although it’s suggested for those who like their hip hop with a hint of faith. If that’s you, check out JP. (https://www.psalmsdownload.com/)

It’s a rap song with an R&B hook infused into it that’s fit for those who like Top 40 radio. That goes for “Yo Daddy” as well. This one was produced for Kidd Mike V. and has great quality to it; one to be proud of. Kidd Mike V. is back for the urban pop ways of “Just Say I Do,” the Bieber like “Telephone” and encouraging “I Can.” With RayMinder and Kidd, you can only expect radio ready tracks that are fit for anyone who appreciates their pop with an edge.

Dan DeChellis is a songwriter who engages his listeners with the wonders of instrumentation. “On the Brink” is an upbeat ditty that doesn’t really take you on a suspenseful ride, but an enjoyable one. You get this night out with a gaggle of fun from “Empty Words,” while “Skirmish” makes toes twinkle about. If you’re having a hard time deciding if Dan DeChellis’ piano driven music is for you, then let “The Decision” decide for you. Puns aside, “A Sarcastic Welcome” is very inviting, and “The Bottom” is at the top of our list as it’s serene and cool.

JoeMoney405 is an Oklahoma boy born and raised in the state’s capital who has been singing since kindergarten even though his style now is way more grown up. “Sex Recipe” starts off slow, much like a sensual night. This is one you’ll want to keep the recipe card for. The R&B mixed with the topic results in a dish best served hot. JoeMoney405 let’s lose a little with “Slow Motion,” as it’s not as slow as one would’ve imagined. This mid-tempo still brings that romantic, sexy vibe but does a good job at being a separate track than the other. When you do the same subject it’s easy for your songs to all sound the same, but each of JoeMoney405’s are unique and distinct. If you’re a fan of sexy R&B music that could grace pop radio, check out JoeMoney405. (https://www.reverbnation.com/joemoney405)

The song is well produced and is constructed like tracks found on ’90s alternative stations - on the lighter side. If you’re into bands like Soul Asylum, you might want to do yourself a favor and check out Ten Cent Herring’s “The Light” before you do anything else today.

Carey J. Buss is a singer/songwriter from Canada who brings his influences of Kaki King and Dan Mangan to life through his multitude of singles and records. “Eating The First Bird Of Spring” is a guitar driven song that really does capture the season it sets out to. You can hear the birth of something new and the scurry to forge after a long winter with little. “Last Pallet” is a guitar driven track that has a more country feel to it, kind of old west showdown in that it has a lot of layers of drama encased in between the strings. Then you have the tracks found on his “Haunted” album. Here is where you can hear the voice behind the guitar with songs like “Staying Warm” and “Not Alone.” If you’re a fan of folk music, you’ll want to make sure to check out Carey J. Buss’ singles and albums now. (https://careyjbuss.bandcamp.com/)

Jay'e R, The R's for Romantic

Down in Charlotte, North Carolina you’ll find Jay’e R, an R&B artist who showcases all sides of love in his music. “Tonight’s Your Night” is a romantic song that is about spoiling the one you love with heartfelt sentiments. Jay’e R keeps the groove going with “Something ‘Bout the Way” in this mid-tempo track about making love and whatnot. He can even do his own renditions of big hits, like Rihanna’s “Umbrella.” He stripped it down and did an acoustic version. We go from love to the complete opposite with “Out of My Life.” It seems like Jay’e R isn’t all about the romance. Relationships do go wrong and he captures that reality in this track that takes his R&B and puts it to this low dance beat. If you’re into artists that bring a pop sound to R&B, check out Jay’e R. (https://www.reverbnation.com/jayer2013)

RB Johnson Croons the Hits

RB Johnson is a soul singer who captures his own words, as well as music fan favorites from Florida. “Knock on Wood” grabs you from the start with the big vocals and the comfortable soul. It’s a fun song and sounds like the Soul Train of the ’70s. You can’t have a voice like this guy and not do your own version of “My Girl,” so that’s what he does and he delivers a version that’s as fun to sing along to as the original. Then he goes back to his own thing with “Simple Girl.” It’s a song that’s comparable to a charmer, but you can’t help but listen to classics like “Dock of the Bay.” It’s always nice to hear familiar tracks done anew. If you’re a fan of ’70s soul, you have to check out RB Johnson ASAP. (https://www.jango.com/music/RB+Johnson?l=0)

Sylvia Semel Country Roots

Sylvia Semel is an artist who rocks the boots and cowboy hats but also can bring on the soul. “Don’t Love Him Too Much” is an upbeat country song that lends itself to the dance floor while “This Break Up Won’t Last” slows it down and is more a tale of an aching heart that holds on to hope. The country leaves and the singer/songwriter with a soulful pop demeanor comes on strong with “Roses and Lollipops.” It was a surprise to hear the switch up in her style but good all the same. Then that twang walks back by the time we get back to “Desperate In Love.” It seems like Sylvia could be comfortable in either genre but favors that country style a little more. It looks and sounds good one her so she and you need not worry. If you’re into good ol’ country gals, check out Sylvia Semel now.
