Established Veteran of the New York City Music Scene Releases First Single of the Year, a Tribute to His Beloved City
New York City, NY — “I love this town. What inspired me to write “I Call New York My Home” was the famous Waldorf Astoria. I can honestly say my days there were some of the best of my life. This town has an energy to it. It’s almost like you can take out your electrical cord and plug it in and be charged and energized. And the passion that’s in this town is just remarkable. I love it here.”
– Marc Eliot on his love for New York City.
Since 2014, Marc Eliot has taken a sabbatical from releasing music. After the critical acclaim of his first three projects, One of the Good Guys, Strangers, Lovers and Friends, and New York Blue, 2022 marked the first single release from Marc, “Latte Lady” (penned for a musical Marc is currently co-writing) since New York Blue in 2014. Marc is now back in 2023 with the smooth and swinging second single of his comeback, “I Call New York My Home.”
For those who are fans of the Rat Pack, Tony Bennet, Michael Bublé, Josh Groban, and Adult Contemporary Pop, “I Call New York My Home” is a must-listen. With a smooth bass line, a swinging sax solo, and gentle crooning by Marc, “I Call New York My Home” transports you to 42nd street as you’re headed back to the Waldorf Astoria to get ready to go your favorite Broadway musical. It may take you to a place where you’ve just finished your night on the town and are enjoying your last stop at a piano bar, sipping your favorite beverage while Marc serenades the room. The music and Marc’s polished vocals are reminiscent of tuxedos and ballroom gowns, martinis and candlelit dinners, and truly elegant affairs.
Marc Eliot is a true entertainer in every walk of his life. He a veteran of the off-Broadway and local New York City theater scene, a beloved favorite at local cabarets, and a frequent performer at the world-renowned Friar’s Club in New York City. One of Marc’s biggest compliments came from Sammy Davis Juniors wife regarding Marc’s cover of her husband’s hit “Come Back To Me”: “When I listened to Marc Eliot’s CD, my jaw dropped! Marc has a sensational voice and ‘Broadway Energy’ and I wish him much success in his great future. I honestly thought I was listening to a recording of my husband singing one of his favorite signature songs, ‘Come Back To Me.’”
This crooner and renaissance man is making a true comeback in every sense of the word. With plans to release several new tracks that have been hiding in the background for the last decade, the ongoing creation of his musical Latte Lady, and continuing to create the beautiful and elegant events he is well-known for, Marc’s next moves look to be just as grand as always. When Marc was asked who his musical inspirations are, the answer gives a beautiful insight into where Marc has come from… and where he’s going next: “I think I’m a smattering of many singers, performers; Frank Sinatra, Matt Monro, Al Jolson, Sammy Davis Jr. I’ve taken a little bit of all their souls, if you will, and then created my own. I think I’m a mixture of all of the greats. And I thank them for it.”
