Exclusive Interview with Blooming Fire
Hi Blooming Fire! Great to speak with you today!
Thanks for having us
What have you been working on lately?
We just got done with our first mini tour after being off the stage for 20 months and it felt amazing! Now we are gearing up to go into the studio and record a bunch of the songs we wrote during shut down. All of the new songs will come out seasonally throughout 2022 along with our short film we created all year! 2022 is going to be an amazing year for Blooming Fire!
Who inspired you all to get into music?
Our families, each of us have very musical families, people who play and just big music lovers!
When was the first time you recall thinking that you wanted to pursue music as your career?
All of us would perform for our families as little kids, we all pretended to be famous singers and rockstars. Music was always an escape and not really a career choice until later in life. It happened for all four of us at different ages, Dryden (lead guitar) probably knew first because he would tell his family he was going to be in a famous band when he grew up, he was in bands in highschool and college and moved to Cali to keep pursuing music. Robby (drums) knew all he wanted to do was play drums more than anything from about 13 on so when he moved to California he also knew that was part of his objective. Ian (lead vocals) and myself Sierra (lead vocals) music kind of continued to find us and hunt us down making us want it more than anything else. We didn’t really know we would focus on it as a career so heavily but here we are, intoxicated by it on the daily.
What is your favorite song you’ve ever released and why?
The first song we ever released, Magnetic Freedom, is still one of our favorites because of how it has affected so many people differently. People always bring up that song and how it has helped them or wanting to know what it’s about. Playing it live again has been so much fun, it always changes every time we play it but it’s always Magnetic Freedom.
Who are some of the artists currently inspiring you?
GroupLove, Warpaint, Neil Frances the band and the person ha ha, Little Simz, HAIM, Courtney Barnett
What is your favourite song to perform together?
Right now it’s all of our new songs were about to record because we’re just so excited about them and it’s fun to sing together…prob TK or Queen
What are you hoping to see in the music world as it continues to evolve?
Raw vocals making a comeback, less perfection. More conscious thought about how events are run with sustainability in mind. More profound lyrics and deeper connections to each other and the planet!
Please let everyone know how they can keep up with you and your music!
