Do Space Probes Dream of Electric Guitars?
Detroit, MI — Tuesday, August 6th, 2019 — “The Daedalus 2 Mission” brings its musical odyssey of the imagination to the Ghost Light in Hamtramck on Sept 6, 2019. The astrophysics-inspired rock concept album was developed by Jim Territo and Joe Territo and features some of the area’s finest musical and dramatic talent.. Songs embracing a colorful range of styles, including arena rock, punk, blues, and opera follow a team of robot space probes confronting life and death in the cosmos.
The September 6th show marks an exciting return for “D2M”. Ant Hall (adjacent to Ghost Light on Caniff in Hamtramck) ran the show as a stage musical last summer to enthusiastic crowds. The band’s soaring instrumentals, dramatic vocals, and a techno-glam aesthetic create an exciting experience for sci-fi and rock-lovers.
Pop culture blog sopilerfreemoviesleuth.com, calls the show “A kicking rad stage production. It will have you dancing in your seat while simultaneously tugging on your heartstrings”. Lyricist Joe Territo writes of the story: “Don’t worry about the plot…These songs are about you. The only objective is to be part of the journey.” Jim says “I wanted to make being a geek feel sexy, and inspire audiences to ‘look up’ and imagine what’s out there. After all, aren’t we all just robots drifting through space, wondering what it all means?”
Band members are Jack Bennett of Royal Oak, guitar/vocals, Stephen Brown (Imaginary Islands) of Southfield, Maya Gangadharan (Ringwald Theatre) of Royal Oak, keys/vocals, Paco Higdon (Paco Higdon Band) of Royal Oak, guitar/vocals, Jeremy Otto (Old Empyre) of Rochester, Drums, Hannah Taubitz (the Murder Mystery Company) of Hazel Park, keys/vocals, and Jim Territo (Mark Blomsteel Band) of Clarkston, keys.
