New Album “These Blues” from Ernie Peniston is a Funky Blues Masterpiece & Shares a Black Iowegian’s Perspective on Life and Love

Sept 2nd, 2021 – A new collection of songs written by singer Ernie Peniston entitled “These Blues” was released on August 28th, 2021. Each of the songs on the album provides a unique look at American life from a truly authentic Iowegian Black Blues artist with a rich history spanning over 50 years in the music business. Recorded at CopperTop Studio Hut, the album offers a fresh look at life in Southeastern Iowa as told in story form from the perspective of a Black American.

About Ernie Peniston: For more than 50 years, Iowa Blues & Midwest Music Hall of Fame Inductee, Ernie Peniston has been a staple of Black Iowegian music, and while his mother & her family hail from the Lake Rathbun area of southeast Iowa, Ernie was born and raised in Muscatine Iowa on the Mississippi River. Ernie’s music invokes great blues, funk and soul artists including Bobby Rush, Stevie Wonder, Solomon Burke, James Brown and Ronald Isley. Ernie’s latest self-released CD entitled “These Blues” is set for release in Summer 2021.
