Shawn Howard’s Cowboy Ways
Shawn Howard is a self-taught musician who has been playing since the tender age of 12-years-old. “Sonny” lets the music do a lot of the work while the lyrics are kind of the supporting characters to the piece of the whole. “Wild Horses In Missouri” has a country feel, unlike the one before that was more adult contemporary. Shawn seems to shine more with a twang in his musical step. “American Folk Tradition” has striking lyrics that make you think, while “Cowboy Diplomacy” again proves that Howard is better when he straps on his country hat — cowboy hat that is. Other than some production matters, Shawn Howard has some solid pieces in his discography but I’d suggest leaning towards the country songs if you were going to give him a go.
