Louise Aubrie
She first began her music career in London before relocating to New York City. Her debut album, Fingers Crossed, was released in 2010, and her second album, Time Honoured Alibi, is slated for release in March of 2013. While listening to Time Honoured Alibi, the listener will get a rush back to the old days of classic rock from the eighties. This is because Aubrie collaborated with songwriter, and music director for Morrissey, Boz Boorer.
The tracks vary from light and poppy to rock alternative, harkening back to Morrissey when he sang for The Smiths. It is a real treat for New York audiences to have an artist that is doing her part in reviving a lost art-form that was the post-punk movement. This period was the pinnacle of alternative, and few other artists are out there resurrecting the scene. Post-punk came to influence the next wave of indie and rock musicians by the late eighties and early nineties, and it is refreshing to hear such a revival when listening to Louise Aubrie.
