Modern Day R&B from Jamaal

Growing up in Atlanta, it is hard not to be musical somehow. It is in the air. R&B singer Jamaal knows that all too well. Calling the ATL home, Jamaal did not turn to the Hip Hop scene too much, although you can hear it sometimes in his music thanks to other artists’ contributions. Jamaal focuses his vocal talents on the soulful side of R&B, but keeps it fresh and young. He is not spouting out classic R&B like Marvin Gaye, but rather like todays chart toppers like Usher and Chris Brown. His music has a crossover appeal to the pop market when it comes to songs like Do It. Other songs that could play well with a mainstream crowd are Ms. Exotic and Off In You featuring GC Loop. Off In You is one of Jamaals songs that have the Hip Hop element in it. back to basics though of Jamaals core is songs like Start Over. That one just sounds romantic through and through. Then there is Blue Light Special, a male version of TLCs Red Light Special if you will. It talks of making love and all that jazz. Jamaals R&B is for todays audience who is young and ready to love.
