Blue-collar, workingman’s rock is practically its own subgenre. It’s arguable who started the movement.  Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty certainly punched their timecards before the large majority was tough enough to carry a five pound lunchbox into the factory break room.  John Mellencamp has also been influential bringing his small town pride, meat n’ taters rock into the national arena circa 1976.  Finding My Way the debut from Waterville, Maine’s Christopher Giles is a more pop-laced take on the style culling as much from Mellencamp as it does the mood lifting sing-a-longs of Bon Jovi and Daugherty. Christopher has got a country heart, a little rock n’ roll soul, the voice of a good pop singer and a nice blend of instrumentation from acoustic to electrified.

I’m really grateful to have a father with musical taste who took the time to introduce me to his classic rock favorites. I learned to appreciate the mellow musings of James Taylor or the rich creamy voice of Gordon Lightfoot and it excites me that the Pat McGee Band finds inspiration from these influences. I find it so satisfying to turn on a classic rock radio station, letting the smooth familiar sounds of the 70’s comfort me in a glowing nostalgia. When I listen to the latest release from The Pat McGee band Pat Mcgee, it’s as if the musical equivalent of my dad’s flannel is being wrapped around me. I’m alleviated by familiarity and an intrinsic warmth that just makes me feel good in that moment.

Learning piano through the British school of music since the age of 4, Anjali Ray’s early musical foundation was later strengthened by the contrast of her Indian vocal training, enabling her to begin writing her own songs and communicating in a way words alone never can. After performing in venues throughout Chicago and Los Angeles, Anjali began a career as an engineer, which enabled her to embrace her greatest gift to date - motherhood. She recently seized the opportunity to create a full length album of songs inspired by her experiences as a wife and mother. The title in question is “Indigo,” with 10 first class pieces of music.

Shortly after graduating high school, Lucca wound up in LA and embarked upon an independent recording career that would span over 20 years. Along the way he’s toured with artists as colossal as Maroon 5, Kelly Clarkson, *NSYNC and Marc Anthony.
