Mojo Rysin’s “Mojo Rysin” is a rock record with some pop qualities that will sing to those who enjoy the sounds of yesteryears. “Gimme Sum Luv” has this late night bar, rock n’ roll feel, while “Made in the U.S.A.” almost sounded as if Randy Newman joined a band. Mojo Rysin can even get a little romantic with “Sweet Lady Luv,” and then take it further with a little “Tough Love.” The title track, “Mojo Rysin,” stays on that same path but packs more of a punch in the delivery. Dmex is an artist from Michigan who puts two and two together to create beats for all aspects of life. “Hello Where The Party At” has this almost mystery about it. It went on and on and was like a video game soundtrack for a NES in the ’90s. “Move to the Beat” has more a club feel of that decade with its faster paced beat. I went into “Music for Your Soul” thinking it’d be more soulful. I’m sure why as Dmex is a house music artist. I did appreciate the claps kept you on pace and never caused for a down moment though. “I Wanna Party” was by far one of the best of the bunch. It just had this fun energy to it that would make you want to keep it going on the dance floor. Gym rats out there may want to adopt “Time to Workout” to their playlists. It’s been a lot of house and dance times with Dmex, but you finally get that R&B fusion with “Time on the Beach.” The pace slows down and almost gives you a since of romance. Lendon James is a crooner from North Carolina who oozes finesse. “Body Party” featuring Glock Styles is ready for the radio. It sounds like something that’d Usher do. You get a a softer touch with “Pieces of a Man” and then even more so with “Plans 4 Us.” You can definitely just chalk Lendon James to being a one of the most romantic experiences of your day. Between those and the one off one that’s not even Lendon James, “Ain’t It (2.0),” this is a wedding soundtrack - honeymoon soundtrack. Derelict Miser is a rock artist who’s keeping one of the best eras of rock and roll alive? “Forever” sounds straight out of the ’70s as does what follows it like the rocking “Knife in the Back” and the more upbeat ditty, “Loaded Tonight.” You can hear the headbanging action within the lines of “Son of a Sinner” loud and clear. Who doesn’t have theirs glued to their hands most of the day? Well Castro’s put that sentiment to rock and worked it out. With “Papaienna” you get a more subdued sound than the one before. This one sounds like a serene day on the lake with nothing around to distract you but the fresh air. Then once the lyrics kick in it transforms into this singer songwriter track that’s infused with a Latin spark. The change is welcoming but definitely transports you from the lake to a music venue. This one’s a comical one for sure. Fall in love with Gomez and Gibson belting out “Just Close Your Eyes,” and do the same with those two again on “Now That I Have You.” It’s not all duets though. It’s less about the booty popping that a certain tongue slinging pop star out there, but it definitely has that club feel. Don’t get it twisted, or do with this one coincidentally titled, “Twisted.” It has this laid back, yet almost sinister ways to it as well. Then you’ll get stuck with “Trap,” while you’ll fight to survive “Hunger Games.” It’s “Pangea” though that’ll never let you go. Monty Montgomery gets freaky, but in the sweetest way possible. “The Freak In Me” has this old school demeanor that is soulful but the real magic comes in that island feel. While one might assume that this was going to be a very vulgar song, it’s actually sweet and has a sense of romance to it. Couples would be lucky to adopt this one as their anthem. It’s a nice song that really just touches on the idea of love in a sexy but sweet way.
