Mr. Unknown is the musical representation of Valentine’s Day. His songs are so romantic, Cupid wants to hire him. “I Was Wrong” is a song that every woman will love because it puts what they’ve always knew to song; that the man is always wrong. That’s not the only reason though. Mr. Unknown can sing and that’s apparent with one note into this song. Right away “You Got Me” reminds me of the sincere classics we’ve come to know from hit makers like R. Kelly. Mr. Unknown gets real with “Hard Times” but it’s hard to tell when the vocals are so clean – You can do nothing but agree to his orders when he sings “Listen To Me.” He picks things up just a bit with “Rock Your Body,” but not by much because it’s still this smooth, sexy flow of R&B coming through the speakers that just make you groove nice and slow. Dan Formidoni’s “Communications” is a pop rock record that set an upbeat mood. “One Brighter Light” has a light pop rock sound that verges on the adult contemporary. It sets up the mood for the rest of the album. Jessica Mack lends her voice to a solid performance on Dan Formidoni’s “Can You See Beauty?” That’s not the only duet found on “Communications,” Michelle Gordon also helped out on “Listen.” Both girls did a great job and only added on to make an even more well-round record. If you were listening to a soft rock station you would hear the sounds and styling’s of Dan Formidoni in between Michael Bolton classics and the latest from Norah Jones. 7LEVIN is an artist to takes the power of sound and makes it pop. “We Own The Sky” is an instrumental song that is carried by the guitar and the atmosphere the rest of the music creates; shimmering stars with the desert as the backdrop. “Slice of Heaven” starts off sounding like a hip hop track that’s about to build up, but it just goes into this industrial meets futuristic song that’d be played during a sad part of a robotic blockbuster. “The Engineers” offers up that same vibe; industrial meets futuristic. Only this time there were no sad robots because the action seems to be escalating throughout this piece. “This Is The End” has an apocalyptic aura to it and would be perfect for a scene in “The Walking Dead,” right before the action gets too intense. 7LEVIN creates musical landscapes for his listeners to build foundations on. A voice like Deaon Forever’s is a gift that needs to receipt. It sets the mood for a romantic, sexy time every time he opens his mouth. “Step ToThe Left” has a seductive set up with the intro and then get’s more romantic by the second. It’s like a modern day “Dirty Dancing” with Deaon teaching you to dance with his wonderful notes. You have to assume that sultry voice will welcome you to every song and “Pushing Inside” is no different than the previous dance lesson. I dare anyone to not be moved by the power of the vocals in this one. “On My Mind” featuring Black Widow is still R&B but picks up the pace a smidge. You have to take a minute to adjust when “Sexy” hits because it is rightfully titled. If romance and sexy times combined to make a child that could sing, then that kid would be Deaon Forever. Heart Rock Music is created by Frank Princiotta, a singer/songwriter who wears his heart on his musical sleeve. “It Could Have Been” is a beautifully sung song that showcases the strength in Frank’s vocals. Things get light with “Rock & Roll From Long Ago.” This one will take folks who were born in the earlier part of the 20th century back to the days when they were just teenagers in love for the first time. The party couldn’t last forever as “The Grim Reaper” had to crash the party. It’s an odd choice, but it’s actually not as scary as one would thing. The symbolism in “Life is a Winding Road” is similar to Sherl Crow’s “Everyday is a Winding Road.” Only Frank’s version isn’t as pop, but delivered on a more sincere level. The hushed vocals of “Anne Frank” were expected, but one would have thought they would’ve been a little lower. Frank captures the mentality of every student in the world with the title alone when it came to “Where Did Summer Go?” That questions unanswered, but the bigger picture – life is being questioned in “What’s It All About.” Frank Princiotta’s Heart Rock Music will resonate with those who lived their youth in yesteryears, but might surprise some of those people’s grandkids as it’s well done and can be enjoyed by all. New Heart Productions produces gospel music and takes it seriously, as expected. “All Glory (Culture Mix)” made me think there’d be words eventually, but it was just a dance beat that evolved over the course of a few minutes. Each turn in the music seemed to represent a new form of life in the track. Then you had another version of “All Glory,” this time the Harpsi Mix. It was less dance but still had that electronic feel to it throughout. “Humble” stood out not only because it had a different title, but because it was a slower song and had lyrics. While you may’ve not have gotten the religious feel in either version of “All Glory,” you heard it loud and clear in this one. The vocals are that of someone who’s spent years in the church and knows how to carry a note while still praising the Lord. New Heart Productions produces gospel music and does a fine job doing so. There are a lot of weird things coming out of Florida, but Royal Chanta isn’t one of them. He’s just a great reggae artist you need to get to know. If you didn’t know what kind of artist Royal Chanta was, one second of “Bun The Chalice” would make that very clear. The reggae is strong with this one and follows the tradition of the tropical music but makes it a bit more modern. Things get even more modern when “Sing and Shout.” It’s like an island club song with a big slice of aggression tossed on top. The music comes back with “Life Goes On” and if you’re a fan of reggae music that’d be found on a crossover station, then this would be the best one in the bunch to take on. Meekaaeel Muhammad is a singer/songwriter who puts out music that touches on basic human events, is soulful and a little funky. “It’s Hard to Say Goodbye to a Friend” is a song that everyone can relate to, either today or tomorrow. Death is an inevitable part of life, but that doesn’t mean it ever gets easier to deal with. At least Meekaaeel Muhammad has put that sentiment to song. His voice carries the ways of 70’s soul with it as he gives you another universal idea with “Everybody Smiles.” This one’s a lighter song but the music remains soft as it flows like a timid river through the speakers to listeners. Meekaaeel Muhammad offers up some advice with “Don’t Play The Fool.” This one has some light funk influence you can hear if you listen closely to the beat. That funk slowly turns into a Lionel Richie like song with “Inconvenient Truth.” It’s like Meekaaeel Muhammad is going to bust out into a tropical breakdown at any second – he never does.
