Classic Country started to get away from us in the mid-90s and that’s when the likes of Alan Jackson and George Strait took notice. They fought the good fight but that couldn’t help acts like Taylor Swift from coming out and eventually winning awards with her ultra pop ways. Thankfully though, Country has some true blue artists left like TJ Nelson. That genre has a few must-haves and one of them is a good, heartfelt love song and that’s what’s found in “If You Think You’re Lonely.” It’s soft, sweet and sincere and that’s just the lyrics. The musical component also works well too. Things pick up just a bit with this mid-tempo adventure in “Raining Underneath The Rainbow.” Another tale of love in a way with the very toe tapping ways of “My Old Flame” comes through as a great sing-along track. Nelson has girls on the brain as we get deep into “Talkin Dirty.” It’s a little risque but all in good fun. The upbeat tracks are great, but sometimes you just want to sit and hear a great Country ballad and that’s what you get as we wrap this up with “Show Me The Way.” If you like artists like Jackson and Brooks, check out TJ Nelson today. Stan B comes to you from the Bay Area of California. There he lives and creates a smooth jazz sound for the mature music lovers out there on his latest, “Blue Fire.” “My Sweet Love” has a very ’70s pop R&B feel to it. Plus, that wind instrumentation adds something a little special. I was expecting something a little more funky from “That Funky Look of Love,” instead what you get is something that sounds like it could’ve been the theme song to a court based TV show. You’ll get moving to “H.p. On the Move,” thanks to this great, lively beat it has going on. We’re back to the funk with “Sexy Funky Sweet,” and here the title is all about the sensuality but keeping it G-rated. We wrap up the record with similar styles in “Creepin Round the Corner” and “Sneaky Pete.” Both have this classy Bond movie vibe going in within them, and you can hear them played at different parts of the film. In 2014 pop music was owned by females. You had Ariana Grande, Meghan Trainor and Iggy Azalea. Well 2015 isn’t going to be any different once the world gets to hear Victoria Trinetti. She has an innocent pop sound that is comparable to a young Kelly Clarkson and Victoria Justice. Her single “Yesterday” is clearly a pop track, but Trinetti has a soulful gift and her notes carry more weight that processed pop. She has the vocal talents to make you take note and within one listen you’ll have “Yesterday” on repeat. It isn’t a dance track, or hype - it’s a simple song that is easygoing and fresh.
